I AM

My four-day trip to DC was short but wonderful. Thanks to Arno who thought it a better idea to meet up in DC than in Amsterdam or Brussels ... and to run the National (half) marathon.

To those who I had a chance to see, thanks for making time available for me (and Blanca for hosting me!), it was great catching up with you. Ali, thanks for the wonderful walk and talk.

So this is what I miss. I don't miss DC so much, but I miss all of you.
  • I miss the 9am coffee at Swings with Samir, Achim, and Callum every day. The guy behind the counter continues to ask me every time I visit whether I am "back" ...
  • I miss brunch with 10 people (thanks for coming out to have the much needed post-run hamburger with Arno, Ingo and me).
  • I miss when my friends mix up over another brunch (Cath, Steph, David and Heela) and have a great conversation about anything and everything.
  • I miss having friends running a race with me, even though they were all running ahead of me ... Ingo, Arno and Cath, you all ran great times! And I now learned a trick from Ingo in being extremely fast ... When it freezes, just wear shorts and a t-shirt so you really need to run fast to warm up :-).
  • Finally, I miss going to the movies regularly. Amy fortunately, had time to go to an impromptu movie with me: "I Am" and guess what ... it inspired the hell out of me!

So, I am not going to say much about it, except ... watch the trailer and go see "I Am"! The documentary resonated with me. It is why I am writing this blog every week.

Nice anecdote ... when the credits rolled down, one guy stood up, turned around and yelled "I love you all!"

Just go see it and be inspired!

Have an amazing week and, please people, plan your trip to or via the Netherlands!!

Rose
