So, after my friend Annemarie arrived this afternoon at 3pm and I had cleaned the house, done the dishes, and baked the squash-pie, we went raspberry and blackberry picking because I still needed to make Annemarie a birthday cake ...
There are multiple orchards around here where you can go and do your own fruit-picking. Here is Annemarie picking raspberries.
So together with the red currants I had been picking over the weekend we had all the ingredients for what on paper looked like a wonderful summer fruit pie.
This morning I already went out in the fields and picked a bouquet of wild flowers for on the dinner table so as you can see I spent quite an amount of wonderful time preparing for this birthday dinner. Below the results :-)
Squash pie, salad, rosé, and ... how could I forget! panini with goat cheese (from the oven!) and honey as a starter. I love my goat cheese!
Et voilĂ , the summer fruit pie ...
The fruit pie smelled amazing but when tasting we decided it still needed a bit more sugar. Next time :-)
So ... who is coming for dinner next???
Still listening to Snow Patrol. I know, I am crazy, let me dance some more!
Have a wonderful fruity end of the week,
Rose
P.S.1 Miss Esquivel, I hope this posting satisfies your requirements for a real blog posting :-)
P.S. 2 Any more songs I should dance on? Let me know!

Indeed, I am satisfied. And I will certainly be coming for a visit, specially after reading the menu! We shall run the Dam tot Dam Loop some day and who knows, maybe it will be next year on my way back to the US? Keep 'em blogs coming!
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for you, lady!
